Thanks to my goddess friend Shanti, we got excellent tickets (3rd row from the front, smack center) for Tori Amos at Hamer Hall. She was excellent live (as I expected her to be) and man can she play the piano (including playing 2 of them at the same time)!!
It was very interesting to see Hamer Hall transformed. We were sitting above where the orchestra pit should be, and there was rock gig paraphernalia everywhere. Very different to the Bryn Terfel concert we saw last year.
It was very odd (as I’m not a huge fan) sitting with all the rabid fans who would have killed for our tickets. I cannot deny this woman is extremely talented, but her music is a bit to angst ridden for me.
Anyway, there is a newspaper review and a fan review with great photos (I sat closer but went unprepared) if you’re interested.
