The really simple things

Today, I fell asleep in P’s arms. We’d just got home from buying these vintage silver cufflinks that he loved, and were walking home on a sunny day, hip to hip. We got home and collapsed on the bed, me because I’d woken up too early, and he because he’d had a long day. We were talking about our day and our plans, enjoying each others company. I was freshly showered, and he was smelling my hair and running his fingers through it. Oscar the cat was curled up into a furry grey ball in the corner of the bed. I tickled Oscar’s stomach and curled up against P’s arm, and before long I was fast asleep and so was he. We probably slept for 10minutes, but it was really nice. Pure joy, one of those moments I promise to always hold in my heart.
